Master's degree Valid Texas educational diagnostician certificate or valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology (or enrolled in a practicum) Previous experience as an educational diagnostician or LSSP in a public school setting preferred Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of evaluation procedures (achievement, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral), education of special education students, human development, and learning theories Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, and students Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct evaluations and collaborate/coordinate with multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated evaluations within timelines, compliant with state and federal requirements Demonstrate high degree of knowledge, understanding, and skill regarding special education compliance mandated by federal regulations and state rules. Coordinate, schedule, and participate in ARD meetings Work with parents to help them understand the special education process Collaborate with local agencies, physicians, as needed Provide consultative assistance to teachers upon request (including academic and non-academic strategies, assistance with IEP goals and objectives, etc.) Respond to suggestions for improvement in a positive, growth-minded manner Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services
