QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to meet NCLB highly qualified status required (48 accredited college credits hours or passing score on CISD paraprofessional assessment exam)
• Experience working with students who have special emotional needs preferred

• Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with supervising teacher and other Special Education personnel

•  Ability and Willingness to follow supervising teacher’s instructions and requests

•  Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, skills

• Willingness and ability to follow campus/district requirements and applicable state/federal laws

• Willingness to actively participate in school activities (staff development, faculty meetings, etc.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide support/supervision to students with special needs in a Special Education pull-out setting

• Provide support/supervision to students with special needs in a General Education Inclusion setting

• Assist supervising teacher(s) as requested

• Ability to respond student safety needs as required

• Other duties as assigned
