Primary Purpose:                

Substitute for an absent teacher and perform instructional duties in the classroom.

Qualifications:

            Education/Certification:

            High School Diploma or the equivalent

            Completion of Canyon ISD substitute training

            Special Knowledge Skills:

            Must have a pleasing personality and a desire to work with students.

            Must have the ability to assume responsibility for direct instruction of students.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Provides classroom instruction and assistance to students.
2. Supervises students.
3. Uses professional information discreetly and judiciously.
4. Interacts with campus faculty and students in a positive and professional manner.
5. Represents the school district to the community in a positive professional way.
6. Actively accepting positions is essential.
7. Abide by CISD policies and procedures for substitutes.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

SALARY:

• Non-degreed: $65/day
• Degreed (BS/BA, MS, Ph.D): $70/day with official transcript
• Retired CISD Teacher with valid certification: $80/day
• $10 extra pay for Friday full day assignments
