Qualifications:

  • Must have valid Texas Teaching Certificate
  • Minimum three years of successful teaching experience
  • Master's degree in Educational Administration preferred
  • Enrolled in an administrative preparation program    
  • Willingness to obtain Certification for T-TESS appraiser and ILD Certification

 

 Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
  • Ability to coordinate campus functions
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
  • Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues and students
  • Ability to collaborate  and coordinate campus testing operations and attend training

 

Major responsibilities and duties may include:

  • Assist in facilitating 504, ARD, Attendance, MTSS, and HB 4545
  • Evaluate and/or observe instruction and provide feedback to staff
  • Oversee district programs and extracurricular activities when needed
  • Ability to instruct and manage student behavior
  • Assist teachers and staff in implementing universal social/emotional learning and Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Facilitate in de-escalation strategies of students with behavioral/emotional needs 
  • Demonstrate empathy, active listening skills and emotional control with students exhibiting non-compliant or acting-out behaviors
  • Facilitate meetings to develop behavior interventions for individual students
  • Serve as a member on the campus SOS committee
  • Plan/collaborate/work closely with members of  grade level team and participate in a Professional Learning Community
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Assist in covering classrooms when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the campus principal
