PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Program Manager is responsible for the daily operation and administration of Canyon ISD Kids After School Program.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Certification:  Master’s Degree in Education in Administration, preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience working with PreK-6th grade students
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience or leadership role with young adults
  • Knowledge of Expanded Learning Opportunities concept
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, organizational, communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills

 

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates an after school program of almost 1000 students and 100 staff members on 13 campuses
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of CISD Crisis Management Plan and Canyon ISD Kids Emergency Preparedness Plan 
  • Works cooperatively, builds strong relationships, and communicates effectively with Canyon ISD staff and parents/guardians
  • Manage the daily operations of the program including activities and facility management
  • Possess knowledge of good business and administrative practices
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and exceptional skills related to conflict management and dispute resolutions
  • Evaluate the program’s procedures and protocols using formal and informal assessments on the standards and indicators outlined in the program
  • Ensure that all program staff comply with rules, procedures, policies and protocols of Canyon ISD.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training all staff members
  • Maintain inventory including equipment, supplies, and snacks
  • Ensure that all staff are supervised and performing daily responsibilities
  • Maintain a secure and safe learning environment
  • Design and implement a high quality program that responds to the needs and interests of school age students
  • Monitor procedures and processes to ensure that activities are related to program outcomes
  • Ensure that activities directly contribute toward a positive, purposeful, and orderly environment, thereby creating an enjoyable place for students to learn, play, and grow both socially and emotionally
  • Implement each campus’ student behavior expectation system by working closely with campus principals
  • Develop and implement an outreach program for community partner involvement
  • Develop and evaluate operational handbooks 
  • Workly directly with the Canyon ISD finance department on tuition, fees, budgets, and payroll
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Participate as an effective team member who contributes to CISD and the program’s goals
  • Meet task completion deadlines established by the district

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

MENTAL DEMANDS:  

Ability to communicate effectively, interpret policy, procedures and data, coordinate district functions; maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Daily district wide travel, prolonged use of computer, occasional lifting up to 50lbs
